How Long Does It Take A Vision Board to Work? -Vision Board Challenge Day 5

You took the first step and decided to make a Vision Board. You got your magazines, glue stick, poster board, and scissors. Maybe you poured yourself a glass of wine, put on some good music, and assembled everything around you as you prepared your mind for the process of making your dreams and goals come to life on paper.

Several hours (and maybe a bottle of wine later) you’ve got your vision board put together. You’re feeling accomplished and hopeful, and even a little excited. You find a prominent place for it in your home. Somewhere that you’re sure to see it and be able to reflect on every day.

You wake up every morning and study your vision board, allowing it to draw you in – feeling the emotion each picture or quote elicits. At the end of your workday, you study it again, knowing that one day, you’ll be living the dream your board projects.

Days go by, and you start to walk by your Vision Board, without even a glance. One day you notice it again, and you think – is this even working? I’m not closer to my dream that I was 3 weeks (or more) ago!

Then the big question – how long DOES it take a Vision Board to work?

The emotional investment in your Vision Board

When you created your vision board, you took the time to really think through the things that you wanted badly. You made an emotional investment in the outcome and are keenly aware of what is happening – and what isn’t.

During the weeks that passed by, you likely had other good and unexpected things appear in your life to which you paid no attention. You weren’t looking for them and didn’t any emotional investment. So they didn’t resonate.

The key then, is to separate your intense emotional feelings from that which you covet. Once that happens, you’re more see them flow to you effortlessly. You’ll see your mind open up and your vision board begins to manifest in your real life.

Your thoughts create your reality

While you’re waiting for your life to appear, it’s easy to notice all the time you’ve spent waiting, and not the time you’ve spent living. This is how your thoughts create your reality.

It’s the same as thinking that you’re sad all the time. When you spend your time thinking about where you are, you miss out on thinking about where you will be.

A watched pot never boils. Your Vision Board will work if you give your mind and your life the space and freedom it needs to blossom and become reality.

Day 5: I challenge YOU to post one Vision Board picture a day for 10 days. No explanation, no review, just the picture. Nominate someone else to do the same!
