Why a Vision Board – Vision Board Challenge Day 2

I’ve always dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur. As I inch closer to retirement, I’m putting more effort into that dream by developing my new blog, Fit, 50 and Fabulous! I really want this dream of being a successful blogger and entrepreneur to be my post-retirement career.  To keep my foot on the gas, I need to keep this dream in the forefront of my mind. A Vision Board is supposed to help that. Welcome to Day 2 of the Vision Board Challenge.

Why a Vision Board?

I can’t exactly recall how the idea of a Vision Board gelled in my head. Recently I decided I should consider building one. I realized I needed the vision in my head to remain static. I needed to look at it all the time instead of focusing on it only when it floated through my conscious mind.

Turns out, when you put your goals down on paper, either by writing or developing something like a Vision Board, they start to become that much more tangible. It shifts the physical practice into mental practice and transforms your brain patterns. And mental practice can transform your life.

Does a Vision Board Work?

Just like anything, the results you get are directly related to the effort you put in. Clipping pictures and slapping them on a poster board alone isn’t going to instantly bring all those things to your doorstep.

Vision Boards do provoke thought. The entire process of creating a vision board is something you ‘feel’ your way through, not think your way through. The exercise itself begins to create the environment and the life you want to live or the goals you want to achieve.

A vision board will really make you think about what it is you want. You begin to focus on it even more. When you’re stuck, it will refocus you. It becomes your daily ‘in your face’ reminder that will help you stay on track. If you’re feeling like you can’t accomplish something, remember back to where and how you felt when you put it together. That fill fire your soul to keep moving forward, no matter how small the step

Day 2: I challenge YOU to post one Vision Board picture a day for 10 days. No explanation, no review, just the picture. Nominate someone else to do the same!
